"My massage was INCREDIBLE. I can honestly say it was the best massage of my life. Thanks."
- Susan W
In the thirteen years that I have had the opportunity to know people through massage therapy, I have been in awe by the profound nature of touch. The healing quality of massage is experienced in body, mind and spirit. It re-awakens one's own healing capacity and one's spiritual sense of being. I have been told many times by clients, "You remind me to take better care of myself." And, "I thought massage was a luxury, but now I realize it is a way of nurturing myself."
"What a gift!" I've said to myself, because what the client is really describing is a journey to self. When we take care of ourselves, our ability to relate and be in harmony with oneself and others, explodes. The ripple affect of choosing to nurture, nourish and love oneself, cannot be underestimated.
When I began doing massage in 1997, I focused my work in Neuromuscular Therapy, a technically proficient type of massage therapy that heals one's musculature. Over the years, I became aware of the profound healing nature of music and the emotional response it elicited. I had many people who cried because the music I selected for them brought back memories of their youth; their marriage and heart-felt journeys. The healing quality of our sessions grew exponentially.
Once I became aware of the energetic quality of massage and sound, I realized there was another level of this inner-work to be revealed. I thought about the missing link and searched for an energy-based modality that would integrate and fully actualize the healing potential of the mind, body and spirit.
I met Alyssa Gillespie, a practitioner and educator of CoreSynchronism, a form of light touch energy therapy that re-awakens the healing potential. Core-Synchronism has a meditative quality that prepares one to receive massage therapy. It's as if the body quiets and says, "Okay, now I am ready." Currently, as a regular practice, I combine Massage, Core Synchronism and Sound/Music in all of my therapy sessions.
Contact me any time to schedule an appointment. I look forward to meeting you.
